Franz Beckenbauer Position In The FIFA

Franz Beckenbauer decided to leave his position in the FIFA executive committee next year. Former West German national team players were choosing to spend more time for family.

Franz Beckenbauer on Thursday, November 11, 2010, said he would not run again in 2011.

"I felt a pleasant experience with my friends at FIFA. I am very good relationship with Sepp Blatter (FIFA president) and Michel Platini (UEFA president). I ask them to understand," said Beckenbauer.

Beckenbauer tenure ends next summer. His last major task is to take part in the selection of host World Cup 2018 and 2022 to be held December 2, 2010 in Zurich.

Beckenbauer is one of 24 members of Fifa's executive committee. He is a UEFA representative.
